I discovered the art of needle felting in 2018 after retiring from a long career in nursing. Little did I know as I tried my hardest to make that first piece look somewhat like an owl, that my life would change so much. I quickly fell in love with creating dolls ‘of a certain age’ and felt it was important to try and show their inner spirit, and also what to me can be the beauty of aging, which I feel is often overlooked. During the hours it took to create each doll, I started thinking back about memories of my childhood spent in England.  I rediscovered the delight of my 8 yr old self and her vivid imagination, and so I began to write what I knew she would enjoy. Those memories, and the joy of writing stories magically happens with each new doll and have given me a wonderful sense of traveling full circle.

I cannot be more pleased with lovely, kind-hearted Augusta, who was so thoughtfully created in every detail—perfection. Her personality is endearing, and she evokes such calm and peaceful emotions I could stare at her for hours! Swetewoolies creations are more than display dolls. I love the stories of each one, especially Augusta, who evolved from a dear childhood memory she had of her grandmother. I hope one day to find a perfect companion for her. She is everything I could have hoped for. I just love her!!!
Thank you for this sweet little lady! ❤️

I wish I could explain how Eloise makes me smile every time I look at her. Beautifully crafted, incredible details…. A beatific face--- meet Eloise. Carolyn created a piece of art that has a personality beyond anything I could have thought of. From her hand beaded turban and matching wet felted hand beaded scarf to the “sparkly” earrings and brooch… ( I love sparkles and colors) the purple velvet coat is royal beyond royal, fully lined AND she has pockets… a lady needs pockets. She has charming boots and a silk dress…. All of the requisite undergarments AND socks… there are details too many to list. Eloise’s face is tilted to the sun, her eyes are closed and she is enjoying the sun and the gentle breeze that’s coming off the ocean… Carolyn takes the time to get to know her clients… what’s important to them.

Thank you so much for making Alan for me.  He's a constant delight but naughty as only a spoiled boy can be.  He tends to like pilfering and does so every time he has a chance.  We're constantly returning property to his victims.  All this said he's loving as can be.  He's also beautiful as these photos will attribute.  His feathers have just glorious color and they're soft as silk.  His eyes are glorious as a bright blue sky.  He's much loved!

My late husband always called me “The Queen Bee”. Carolyn and I collaborated on what I was envisioning, and I gathered up a few little rhinestone “blingy” pieces that I hoped she could collaborate into my Woolie. She did a marvelous job of including those pieces, gave her green eyes like mine, and quite a little attitude, which is also right on point. She even has a little stinger! Every time I look at her I smile—she just tickles me to pieces, and is such a visual reminder of my favorite nickname and my husband. Carolyn’s work is stunning, so detailed, so whimsical, and I don’t know how she manages to felt a lovely little soul into each of her pieces, but she does. I feel so lucky to have one of her creations
